Vote FOR LINDA BAMIEH IN CRAWLEY

Who is Linda Bamieh?

Raised in Crawley in the early 70’s, I have seen its transition from a small town, to a growing business and logistics centre full of opportunity, and now into a commuter hub with a housing shortage and rapidly increasing rental prices.

I worked at Gatwick Airport and flew for British Caledonian in my younger years when more jobs were available for Crawley’s youth. We need to better manage Crawley’s evolution to create a brighter future for Crawley’s young people. I’ve had four children in Crawley myself, three attended Pound Hill and Hazelwick schools, London universities, and went on to have international careers, the other has special needs, uses a wheelchair, and is still in my care.

I know all too well about Crawley’s education system, as well as the dire state of its roads and pavements, we must solve these basic issues. The opportunities I took led me into an international life, living for extended periods in West Africa and the Middle East where I gained a deeper perspective of the world and what’s really important. That is why I fight against the genocide in Gaza, that is why I try to build and connect communities everywhere I have lived, and that’s why I am running as the Workers Party candidate for my hometown of Crawley.

Labour and Conservative have lost their way and are leading us down an immoral and dangerous path with their dishonest stance on the genocide in Gaza, just as they did with Iraq and Afghanistan. The government’s domestic policies have failed, they ran amok during the pandemic, and their pantomime continues, while the Labour Party barely opposes them. It’s time for change in UK politics and I trust the Workers Party to drive that evolution.

My Pledges For Crawley

  1. Support workers rights and business interests in order to build a stronger economy in Crawley, Sussex, and Britain as a whole.
  2. Prioritise funding in education and encourage greater participation from young people in decision-making and political processes.
  3. Strive to ensure that everyone in our community has access to quality healthcare and raise awareness to the challenges of those with special needs, and their carers.
  4. Be a voice for our diverse area, ensure the opinions of all communities are heard and valued by our leaders and decision-makers, for the benefit of society and the environment
  5. Bring light to the needs of senior citizens in Crawley, fighting on their behalf for legislation around retirement age, care provision, and quality of life.
  6. Demand a ceasefire in Gaza, ensure the provision of humanitarian aid, encourage international rebuilding efforts, and drive accountability into international politics.

Why vote for Workers Party?

Why vote WPB in Crawley?

“From the moment I met Linda, I felt a connection. Her humanity and decency radiated like a beacon. Our town, a vibrant and diverse community, is filled with ordinary people striving to progress, survive, and care for each other. However, our politics has devolved into a bitter game. We deserve better. Sending Linda to Parliament would bring the breath of fresh air we desperately need.”

Karen

“Linda has a way of standing out in a crowd. Her charismatic and warm nature is evident from the moment you meet her. In a short time, Linda made a significant impact on me. She is eager to listen, learn, and make a difference. I am confident that with Linda representing us in the places that count, she will champion the issues that matter to us, the people of Crawley.”

WHY VOTE FOR OUR PARTY?

Our Key Policies

Decent, Affordable Social Housing

Social Housing was something this country pioneered back in the day. We want to return to this, but with a modern twist, to provide affordable, cost-effective housing produced for people to live in, but using automation to meet the high demand for housing due to a failed free-market system.

Nationalise the NHS

The NHS has been broken into a million pieces — all of them private. It’s time to return the NHS back into public hands, do away with all of the expensive and convoluted market systems within it, and turn it back into a system which is responsive to the people, and for which, parliament is responsible. No more highly-expensive and useless PFI contracts.

Community-led Redevelopment

We will deliver mass-produced housing which will be affordable, and will provide families with homes of good quality. This will be done not by wasteful investment projects or private firms, but with automation and community-led building plans so that what gets developed in a community is what the community want, not what multi-national corporations want.

Bring in Children’s Online Wellbeing Act

We want to protect our children from addictive social media that leads to mental health, lack of confidence and self-harm issues. We want to limit enhanced content and all advertising to under-18s. That means taking on big Social Media companies in the Parliament to protect our future.

None of the mainstream parties would dare take on big corporate social media companies. This reason alone should be enough for you to vote for an independent party this election.

Stop the Genocide in Gaza

We are not afraid to call it what it is – Genocide! Most people agree with us, but the mainstream parties are simply ignoring the people. Make your vote Count! We do, by also supporting students!

Starmer’s Labour stands for relative reticence to criticise Israel. He said they have the right to cut off all water, food and electricity. He has never condemned any of the bombing of refugee camps killing hundreds at a time. That is unforgivable.

Reduce Bills – Nationalise the Utilities

Water and the Rail sectors are the prime examples of disastrous privatisation by Labour and the Tories. We stand for nationalising the utilities.

Labour – a supposedly left-wing party, can’t even name 3 industries they would nationalise.
